DESCRIPTION:
Audience:
Content Creators and Editors. Those who create content using Adobe PDFs. Any staff who are responsible for creating documents for public consumption such as Public Information Officers, Executive Assistants, and Office Technicians.
Course Objectives:
This 1-day hands-on instructor-led course will assist students in becoming proficient in creating web documents that are Accessibility compliant. The course includes lecture and hands-on computer exercises to reinforce learning.
Learning Objectives:
– Adobe PDF Remediation
– Adobe fundamentals
– Use of assistive technology with Adobe
– Hands-on exercise to create accessible documents using Adobe tools (Acrobat Pro DC)
– Samples using charts, tables and various document elements
– Testing accessibility by using screen readers and other tools
Computer Software Requirements for this class:
Mandatory:
1. Adobe Pro DC – Mandatory {license is cloud based} / https://acrobat.adobe.com/us/en/acrobat/acrobat-pro.html
2. MS Office 2016 or later/ for exporting docs to PDF
Optional:
3. NVDA Screen Reader [may require permission from IT Admin to install]

4. Color Contrast – https://developer.paciellogroup.com/resources/contrastanalyser/
5. Cisco WebEx – App [Web based does not require any download]
6. Headset to listen to the screen reader [Adobe has an inbuilt tool for quick test but it is not a substitute for professional Screen Reader like JAWS]
